About Us

Back in the 18th Century, the grounds and building were a part of the Tortworth Estate, with Tortworth Court being the main house. The house was built as the Dower House - this was the house that the Lady of the Manor moved to once she became a widow, freeing the main house for the new Lord and Lady of the Manor to occupy.

In later years it became the property of Colonel Murray, a very highly respected military officer. His favourite dog and hunting horse are buried in the grounds.

Following various owners The Park has now been a hotel for over 30 years. The current owners, Lynda and Mike Jones, look forward to welcoming you to The Park Hotel. whatever the occasion.
